In 2001 a number of people from across the UK to setup a web server - io.tertial.org - to host their personal domains, projects, email and other miscellaneous stuff.

From then until July 2016 that server (and its three successors that bore the same name) diligently hosted all that we asked of it.  As with any other server it suffered some hardware failures, some attempted break-ins and the usual crap that comes with being on the Internet.  At the time of it going online (prior to mainstream adoption of hypervisor-based virtualisation), the server allowed a number of projects to get going at reasonable cost that otherwise may have not seen the light of day.

After more than fifteen years and in the light of cheap cloud-based services becoming available, the admin team decided to call it a day and the server was retired in July 2016.
